1. Overview
This privacy policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit and use this website, in accordance with the GDPR, the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), the Digital Services Act (DDG) and the TDDDG.

3. General information
We only process personal data where this is necessary to provide a functional website and our services, or where you have given consent. Legal bases are Art. 6 (1) (a), (b), (c) and (f) GDPR. We delete data once the purpose no longer applies, unless statutory retention periods apply (6 to 10 years for tax and commercial records).
4. Hosting (Netlify)
This website is hosted by Netlify Inc., 512 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Technically necessary connection data is processed to deliver the content and ensure security. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Netlify.
Transfers to the USA: Transfers are based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses included in Netlify’s data processing agreement (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR). Where Netlify is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, transfers are additionally based on the EU Commission’s adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR).
5. SSL/TLS encryption
This site uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons.
6. Server log files
The hosting provider automatically collects browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name, time of request and IP address. This data is used solely to deliver content, for system security and error analysis, and is stored by the hosting provider only for a short, technically necessary period. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
7. No cookies, no tracking, no browser storage
This website sets no cookies and stores no information on your device (including local storage and session storage). No analytics, tracking or marketing services and no third-party scripts, fonts or images are used. Consent under § 25 (1) TDDDG is therefore not required, which is why we show no consent banner. Whether the intro animation on the home page is shown is decided locally by your browser based on the previously visited page, without storing data or sending it to us.
8. Fonts (hosted locally)
The fonts Bodoni Moda and Jost (SIL Open Font License) are served exclusively from our own server or our hosting provider’s server. There is no connection to Google or other font providers.
9. Enquiry form
When you use our enquiry form, we process the details you enter (name, property or company, email address and optionally budget and message) solely to handle your enquiry. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR. Submissions are received and stored via Netlify Forms (see section 4) and forwarded to us by email. We delete enquiry data once it has been handled and no statutory retention obligations apply.
Spam protection: We use a hidden honeypot field. In addition, Netlify automatically checks every submission with the Akismet service of Automattic Inc., 60 29th Street #343, San Francisco, CA 94110, USA, which Netlify uses as a sub-processor. The content of the submission, your IP address and browser information may be transmitted to Akismet. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in preventing spam). The safeguards described in section 4 apply to the transfer to the USA.
10. Creator applications
When you apply via the form on the “For creators” page, we process your details (name, email address, profile link, focus, information about your audience and your message) to review your application (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). So that we can contact you about suitable projects, we store your details on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR) for no longer than 24 months. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future; an informal message to the email address above is sufficient. Sections 4 and 9 apply accordingly to transfer, storage and spam protection.
11. Contact by email or phone
If you contact us by email or phone, we process your details to handle your request (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR). Emails to team@aesociety.de are processed by our email provider IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany.

13. Links to external websites
This website contains links to external websites, such as the sources of statistics or Unsplash in the image credits. Data is only transmitted to the respective provider once you click such a link.
14. Minors
This website is not aimed at persons under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from persons under 16.
15. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, withdrawal of consent with effect for the future and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 15 to 21, Art. 7 (3), Art. 77 GDPR). An informal message to the contact details above is sufficient.
16. Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
Where we process your personal data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), you have the right to object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.
